Community Service

Classic Country Radio also participates in a number of community service events and special projects each year.

Bucks Braun, Joe Mullins and Darrin Johnston serve as Masters of Ceremonies for dozens of community service events each year. Need a special speaker for your non-profit event? Contact Classic Country Radio!

We proudly sponsor the Day of Caring Pancake Brunches in Xenia and Wilmington each February.

In the spring, Classic Country Radio participates in the Red Cross Heroes Campaign by hosting an on-air auction of a 30 lb. chocolate bunny donated by Friesinger’s Fine Chocolates of Springboro, OH. The money generated by the bunny auction is donated to the Preble, Greene and Clinton County Chapters of the American Red Cross.

Classic Country Radio holds a scholarship auction each summer. Two $500 scholarships are provided to the Greene County Career Center and a $1000 annual scholarship is facilitated by the Greene County Community Foundation.

Classic Country Radio also is a proud participant of the Greene, Clinton, and Preble County Junior Fair Livestock Sales supporting dozens of hard working 4-H members in our region.

One of Classic Country Radio’s biggest fundraisers for 2004 was Operation Thank You. Through our own Operation Thank You, a support effort organized by Classic Country Radio and local businesses promoting the sale of a uniquely designed “Support Our Troops” T-shirt, enough funds were generated to present $6,125 worth of Kroger grocery gift cards to over 245 military families with loved ones deployed overseas for the holidays.

Each day at 2:45 p.m. Joe Mullins provides church announcements. This is a free public service. Churches may e-mail, fax or mail them to our studio at 486 W. Second St, Xenia, OH 45385.
We also gladly make free public service announcements throughout the year concerning community events and service oriented activities.

On November 17, 2005 WBZI Radio was presented with a 2005 Vision Award from the Greene County Career Center, an award established to recognize those who contribute to GCCC's vision of "Lifelong Opportunities for Success!"
